Our experience has been OK with the Ascend units. Our max2000 is
bulletproof. Hasn't rebooted unless done manually. Running 5.0Ai4 for
software. Performance has been great and our customers have been happy,
which is important.

We just purchased 5 MAX-4048, it was a nightmare trying to get them to
work correctly. Shipped with 5.0ap6, I was told my Ascend Technical
Support that I needed Patch 23 for the K56FLEX bug. I updated Patch23, to
find out about the Accounting Bug. Upgraded to 24. Still had disconnect
problems with patch24, Tech Support said that the "real" fix was in
Patch27, not 24. Needless to say, I am running on patch 27 pretty
smoothly now. We are having some connection problems with users that we
didn't have previously with PM2e-30s/33.6modems. After the upgrade
fiasco, everything seems to be working ok. Although, I didn't enjoy
upgrading 5 boxes 3 times in the span of 2 weeks.

Still having some high speed disconnect problems though...... Anyone else
having these problems?

Thanks for your time......
