Re: (ASCEND) Pipeline 50 Console Pinouts/Cable
if you do need to flash new code to that pipeline, here are some quick
instructions...
hint.. use a terminal program for dos, windows hyper terminal is usually
not that stable when doing this... procomm plus for dos is my favorite...
First you need to go ascend's ftp site, ftp.ascend.com, go into
/pub/Software-Releases/Pipeline/Release-5.1A/, set to binary, and get b.p50
Unplug Wan and Lan cables from pipeline
Boot to dos
open procomm plus for dos
hit control L
hit esc [ esc -
then you should see CKCKCKC
then hit pageup
then Xmodem
then the file name (i.e. b.p50)
it will start sending, and then reboot itself with the new software revision.
if it doesnt boot back, then you broke it.
call ascend- 1-800-272-3634
