(ASCEND) OSPF usability?
I have heard many stories about the usability or not of OSPF on Ascend Max
systems. I have a 2024 (now actually connecting via leased T1 with PPP -
the admin at the other end had given me the wrong IP addresses, which
caused that problem). I am connected to a Cisco 2501 on the other end and
am supposed to be part of a large OSPF network. None of the systems
connected via the PRI or the Ethernet really have any use for OSPF. The
only link I need to deal with OSPF at all is the leased T-1 to the Cisco.
My question is, is this setup sufficiently simple for my Max to not choke
on it? And does it matter how complicated the area on the other side of
the Cisco is? Because it's pretty complicated. :) The ethernet and
dialin lines can be external or part of this area or pretty much anything
they want to be. Whatever makes things easiest. :) Also, why can't I be
in a stub area? It seems that it would make things easier, not harder, on
the Max.
Can you tell I never did a thing with OSPF before? I knew you could.
