The message "DCD lost" is the same thing, but that one happends when data is being transmitted and that the connection is closed. Both messages are for a connection closed with an LCP close/terminate. Exemples: disconnecting phone line from modem, noise, disconnecting power from modem, too many fallbacks/forward, too many retrains, a non low DTR hang-up, etc. Hope it helps...
