Maybe so, but the FTP server messages don't seem to lead you to think this way: I quote, from /pub/Software-Releases/Max: -- Patch Releases - A Patch Release contains only bug fixes made since the last full release which will not affect the stability of the release. Patch Releases may not be released on a regular interval. What does this mean? If you have a customer needing a fix made in both the patch and the incremental release, and stability is what you want, then use the Patch Release. If there is a new feature the customer desires or if they have a problem fixed in the Incremental Release that a Patch Release does not address, then they should use the Incremental Release. -- '..will not affect the stability of the release..', now, who here wasn't affected by stability in the past 8 revisions of patch releases. Ascend better tighten up ship in a big hurry or start losing customers to the competition like Livingston or Cisco. (Last month I just wanted to chuck the damn MAX out the window) And the mention of 'real soon' and 'almost' are not good terms to use. The last time I heard 'real soon' I expected something in a day or two and it ended up being 4-5 weeks. (I won't even go into how it took 6 phone calls and 4 assurances from people at Ascend that I'd get my additional back cover plates to cover the gaping holes from a DM-8 -> DM-16 upgrade..) Ascend, take note, you are standing on the edge of a very very sharp knife and many of us might just push you off. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Chris A.
