I've recently obtained a new GRF 400 switch for Ascend that I'm trying to
setup routing for. Here are the particulars of my network:
Remote serial WAN interface: 157.130.176.117/30
Local serial WAN interface: 157.130.176.118/30
GRF IP address: 208.218.220.254/24
Default gateway: 157.130.176.117
Routing downstream for:
208.218.220.0/24
208.218.221.0/24
208.218.222.0/24
208.218.223.0/24
--------------------------------------
In the grifconfig.conf file, I've put:
<name> <address> <netmask>
de0 208.218.220.254 255.255.255.0
gs020 157.130.176.118 255.255.255.252
The first is for the maintenace ethernet interface and reflects the IP
address of the GRF itself. The second is the interface for the HSSI card
in Slot 2, Port 0, and reflects my local serial WAN interface. The HSSI
port is connected to a Larscom CSU/DSU. I've configured my
hssi-frame-protocol = Frame-Relay

In the grroute.conf file, I've put:
<dest> <netmask> <gateway/next hop>
default 0.0.0.0 157.130.176.117

In the grfr.conf file, I've put:
<slot> <port> <optional parameters>
link 2 0 name="Upper Port 2" LMIType= AnnexD AutoAddGrif = gs020
<lif> <dlci> <peer ip address> <optional parameters>
pvc gs020 500 157.130.176.117 Name="UUNET" Enabled=Y

In the grppp.conf file, I've put:
interface gs020
enable ipcp

With this setup, I'm able to ping 208.218.220.254 (the GRF's IP) and
157.130.176.118 (the HSSI port IP), but not 157.130.176.117 (my remote
serial WAN interface and default gateway).
Any help or pointers would certainly be appreciated.
