Hi, 1) On the Serial Wan Menu, configure 'Nailed Group' with 1, and 'Activation' with 'DSR+DCD' 2) On the Connection Profile for the serial connection, configure the WAN Alias with the address of the serial interface on the Cisco, and the IF with the address of the serial interface of the MAX. 3) Still on the Connection Profile, go to 'Telco Options' and set the 'Group' parameter to the same number as you put the 'Nailed Group' in pass 1) above. Also set 'Call Type' to 'Nailed'. If the connection is not up, i.e., if the PPP link is not established, then the routing table will not be updated, and therefore you can not route anything through the serial link. After the link is ok, you can set up any kind of route through it.
