Marc,

IIRC, it is a bitmap.

ff = 11111111, which means that all of the calls were good.  The bitmap is
useful (?) since it can show some kind of pattern to when calls failed,
in terms of order or time.  The 'ff' will get more nasty as you get more
calls recorded, up to 32 maximum recorded in the bitmap.
