as nobody has answered yet...

I would try _linking_ the Clients and Users files into a different
directory (say cu_dir) and replicate cu_dir only. On the target machine,
these files are again linked into the "proper" dir.

Of course this will only work if you know the file names in advance.

ln.exe is part of the POSIX subsystem in WinNT. Linking is not a
generally known or used feature of NTFS.
