(ASCEND) Fw: Dead Pipeline 50 -- How to reset?
Just FYI,
My dead pipeline is back to life now.
For older pipelines (this one is Sn:6110773) do the following to erase a
pipeline
config and reload from scratch.
0.) Kill power.
1.) Open case, find the big motorola chip, their are two jumpers above this
chip
short out jumper P6
2.) Restore power, attach serial cable, open hyperterm and wait a minute or
two
then hit enter and CTRL-L....you should get a Pipeline50> prompt
3.) first type >ef [enter] (for erase flash)
next type >df [enter] (for download flash)
4.) In hyperterm go up to Transfer, Send,
for file name browse to b.50 (or whatever your load should be)
(This means you have to have b.50 ready first....get 4.6Ci18 from
the incrementals)
Set protocol to 1k
5.) when its done, kill the power, remove the jumper on P6, restore power
6.) upgrade software to 5.0A
7.) upgrade software to 5.1Ap8 (The most stable pipeline release out now.)
8.) Whola....and it didn't cost $240 bucks....would have been easier with
some instructions somewhere though...

>Now I can understand the need for a warranty, but I get the feeling
