If you want ISDN calls to SPAN boxes, you'll need the stacking.

Subject: (ASCEND) Stacking Max4048's
What is this stacking that I am hearing about? I have a remote POP with 2 of
the
Max 4048's and I didn't do anything special to them. They both answer on the
same number and get the T1s from the same telco. I haven't had any problems.
So
why would I want to do stacking? What advantages does it offer me?
