Thanks for your note.  The machine didn't reboot.  That's why I put in
"Besides the obvious"  :-)

By obvious I mean, the trunk went down and then came up, the machine
rebooted,
someone unplugged the PRI, someone rebooted the PRI modem, the telco bounced
the PRI, etc.

I guess what I really meant to ask is, "Under exactly what conditions
will the Max send the syslog message that the trunk came up?"

I am getting these messages, and I need to know if I need to have a chat
with
my telco, or with ascend!
