(ASCEND) Line tuning for modems

We have different PRIs going into a TNT from different telcos. We notice
that the lines provided by the ILEC, Pac Bell, give consistently higher
modem connect rates (v.34) than those provided by another telco.

Much of this is probably due to A/D/A conversions along the way, but Ascend
suggested that it may be possible to tune for the lines.

Can anyone shed any light on this? Can the TNT do different modem levels,
etc. for different T1 ports?
