(ASCEND) P75 NAT setup
Hi folks,
I am setting up a P75 using NAT to connect to our Max4004. It works fine
with MPP . However, the P75 will automatically bring up a connection even
though there is no request for it. I have tested it by just connecting the
P75 to a network hub with serveral workstations (they are turned on but
idle). The P75 will connect then disconnect (after the idle timeout) and
connect again and repeat the cycle. However, when I unplug the network
cable from the network hub to the P75, it will not connect. What should I
do? Is that something to do with packet filtering?
While I was testing it, I connect it to our local LAN hub and when I turn
the "proxy mode" to "always", it crashes my local LAN stations. What
happens is on all other workstations, I got "arp info overwritten for
a.b.c.d by 0:2a:c:7b:ef:3a"
where the MAC address is the address of the P75. Once I turn it back to
"off", it is fine. Does anyone have this experience? (I am using NAT on the
P75)
