What are you using as the comms package to do the download? I know with
some versions of PCPLUS for example, you needed to tell it to ignore
the carrier detect "loss" in the options. Other packages seem to fail
with very few retries.

The process causes the Pipeline to "reset NVRAM" before it accepts the
new load - so retries are normal.
