The box in question has been under scrunity due to running low on memory
(like pools -v showing ~400k) under APAC TAC ticket#2002498

Anyone else seeing low-memory problems?

Another oddity is that I'm _sure_ I changed the telnet password on that
box today, but post-reboot it's got the old telnet password. So maybe
it's rebuilt NVRAM from flash (with no accompanying message)?

Meanwhile, far away on another box, in another city, life is good:

SYSTEM IS UP: Index: 100 Load: febik.m40 Revision: 6.1.7
        Date: 08/20/1998. Time: 09:20:08
