I tried it 2 years ago on FreeBSD, and the maxen would flood it with null
radius sessions until it would crash with a coredump.  This usually took
less than 5 minutes.  However, this was with 4.6c code, and things have
probably gotten better in both the Merit code and the Ascend code.

What exactly are you having problems with?
