You're definitely not the only one - we see up to 28.8k too.  My
understanding is that that's the limit of the back-channel, as spec'd.

What I would _really_ like to know is how we (with A-law codecs and 64k
clear-channels) got short-changed into a 56k limit (which seems
appropriate for the USA, but somewhat of an artificial limit for the rest
of the world).
