The Pipelines have built-in HDLC data processors to send
data over the ISDN line. The do not have any sort of modem chip.

If you are looking to use a router over an analog modem link,
you might check out a Netopia Dual 56k router.
I have several customers who use this box who are quite happy.
You could even plug the phone line of the Netopia into the
POTS jack on the Pipeline...
