(ASCEND) IP Pool Problem

Hi,

We have a little problem at the moment with a new MAX 4030. (It never worked
for us.. it's new..)

Every time a user logs in he gets IP Address 0.0.0.0 regardless what I'm
configuring... :(((

Here is a little screenshot about what happens:

[gp@gerhard gp]$ telnet max2.vbs.at 6150
Trying 195.230.54.67...
Connected to max2.vbs.at.
Escape character is '^]'.
Vienna Dialin Service

login: tester9@servus.at
tester9@servus.at
Password: secret!

    Entering PPP Mode.
    IP address is 0.0.0.0
    MTU is 1524.
[a PPP sequence which is hard to paste into my mua ;-))) ]

I have defined the following pools:

Pool# Base Count InUse
   1 0.0.0.0 0 0
   2 0.0.0.0 0 0
   3 0.0.0.0 0 0
   4 0.0.0.0 0 0
   5 0.0.0.0 0 0
   6 0.0.0.0 0 0
   7 0.0.0.0 0 0
   8 0.0.0.0 0 0
   9 0.0.0.0 0 0
   10 0.0.0.0 0 0
   11 0.0.0.0 0 0
   12 0.0.0.0 0 0
   13 0.0.0.0 0 0
   14 195.230.56.240 16 0

Number of remaining allocated addresses: 0

I made a dump of a package which is produced by the diagnostics mode if a
try to log in. Please notice that there is an attribute 218, len 6, 00 00 00
0e and 0e should be 14 and attribute 218 is 'Ascend-Assign-IP-Pool'. I think
it should work :(
