(ASCEND) RE: Bad News

We have gone through *red hell* when we were forced to upgrade a *test* TNT at a customer's site from 2.1.9 to a "specially fixed" 7.0.3. Soon as we upgraded the binary to 7.0.3 and reset the TNT things came to a *crawl* on the Ethernet interface - we could not go forward or back out. It took us the whole day to figure out what was going on. We finally managed to upload the 7.0.3 bin via the serial console port, and the ffs files individually, by separating the TNT from the LAN, connecting it and the PC used to upgrade it to a stand-alone hub (with nothing else connected to it). All of this eventually worked (how well remains to be seen).
It is very important to check your Enet2 Card Rev. Level. Anything before Rev. C with 7.0.X spells *big trouble*. Contact Ascend for an upgrade if you have Rev. A or B.
