When I mentioned that we were "cornered" into upgrading to 7.0.3 I really meant it! The release 7.0.3 we uploaded was actually 7.0.3e0 (an engineering release) which fixed a nasty bug we could not live with. The bugs fixed in the "engineering code" we have will not be included in the "commercial" version until the next 7.X release, so upgrading to 7.0.4 is a NO! We are stuck with 7.0.3e0 until the next 7.0.3e? (see below) which may or may not find its way in the next 7.X.
We have stumbled on another bug which has gone to engineering for a fix, we figure it was present in all TNT releases since 2.0. Its impact on the overall TNT user base is however minimal as it only relates to the AM36 (36 analog modem) card. Its user base is so limited that very few people at Ascend know anything about it. Its documentation stands at about two lines and a picture of its panel in the TNT manuals. Also, it is not a "stocked" item by Ascend, so delivery lead times can be quite lengthy.
To Ascend's credit is outstanding responsiveness once they acknowledge the existence of a "bug". Also, we are very pleased with the level of assistance and cooperation received from Ascend's TAC people in Sophia Antipolis, France.
