(ASCEND) MAX 4048 WAN problem
There is an odd tone on the incoming WAN lines to one of our Max 4048's.
Just after it picks up the line, it sounds just like one beep of a busy
signal. The modem starts up right afterward, but some customer modems are
being fooled into thinking the line is busy and are hanging up.
The telco says its not their problem because they can't see it in loopback.
Changing modem cards has no effect and changing WAN lines just changes the
tone to a higher pitch. We're running 6.1.7. Has anybody heard of this?
Here's the relevant T1 config for both WAN lines.
Sig Mode=Inband
³ NFAS ID num=N/A
³ Rob Ctl=Loop-Start
³ Switch Type=N/A
³ Framing Mode=D4
³ Encoding=AMI
³ FDL=N/A
³ Length=N/A
³ Buildout=0 dB
³ Clock Source=Yes
This is a new unit and has been doing this since we started using it the
first of the year. I noticed the tone right away, but it didn't bother my
modem, so I didn't think it was a problem.
Thanks,
