(ASCEND) MAX 1800 dropping ping packets



Hello,

We started a routine pinging of a customers' MAX 1800 to verify it's
connectivity with us (along with our other customers, who are running P50s).

All customers are connected to us through our MAX 4000.  The MAX 1800 often
takes a *very* long time to respond to the pings, and frequently does not
respond at all (signalling a code red on our end).

It is connected to us with 2 BRIs for 256k.  The ISDN lines all check out,
and I haven't heard service complaints from the customer.  The 1800 just
seems to drop pings.

We're running 7.0something (whatever was released about a month or so ago)
on the 1800, 6.1.24 on the 4000.

Has anyone else seen this phenomenon?
