(ASCEND) problem of one extra hop

hello,
i am facing the problem that i have maxtnt as one extra hop for the users.
that mean that when i do traceroute from dialup i got maxtnt as before
router, which should router only.
where i am mistaking if some configuration problem.
please tell if someone has idea of coping with the situation.
