(ASCEND) Static IP problem with Maxes



Help!  This has happened to me twice now!  I'm installing Radiator, and
have been experimenting with different groups, etc.  Two times I have
made an error, which caused a single static IP to be assigned to all
users logging in.  It's no big deal, because I catch it right away, and
restart radiator.  The problem lies with just my Maxes!  They continue
to assign that IP address, even though I have restarted radius.  I even
changed their config to use another radius server (livingston radius on
that machine), and they persisted to try to assign that IP address!

The WEIRD thing is that the only users a Max will try to assign that
address to are Windows users who are configured to try to use a DHCP
server for WINS resolution!  We called a few, had them disable WINS
resolution, reboot, and they could then connect.

I have rebooted the Maxes, and that doesn't do any good either.  Last
time this happened, the trouble resolved itself in about 5 hours.  Does
anyone know why this would happen?  I can't wait 5 hours, of course, for
the problem to go away. 

I also use PM3s and USR equipment, and they do not exhibit this
behavior.  Once the typo was fixed and radius was restarted, they
resumed normal dynamic ip assignment.

Any ideas about why my Maxes are not wanting to let go of this static IP
address?
