Re: client server part 1

It's not all that bad, with a complete update of everything that's
changed, I'm sending messages on the order of 100-900 bytes, which is
at most a 3/4 of a second worth of time on a 14.4 link; in fact inside
the main city, the worst place for continual updates I've seen is up
with the dragons, which are animated. Once I get input working
better, I'm going to go wander around and see what it's like around
monsters.

In view of this, it would be nice to slow the game down some so that
stuff takes longer; I keep wondering where all the corpses from the
hundreds of monsters that I kill are going, I'd rather spend a longer
time fighting the monsters and gain more experience than kill more
monsters.

Peter Mardahl will hopefully put my client server stuff somewhere in
ftp.csua.berkeley.edu sometime tonight (PST); Tero Haatanen suggested
I put in in ftp.ifi.uio.no:/pub/crossfire/incoming; I'll probably do
that also, I expect I'll just put the entire crossfire src
distribution there, for interim releases I don't feel like figuring
out what's changed (humor me, I'm still recovering from the Flu). Be
warned that the current stuff is not necesarily any good, but if
someone fixes stuff quickly, I'd love to receive patches to bugs --
such as how to correctly remove a player when the connection disappears.
