Re: Stormbringer is wimpy

This discussion is all moot to a player playing a fireborn.
This charcater is very very good, thanks to the its initial
ownership of a `magic crystall' which can store 500 sp of
power to be called appon (or stored) as required.

BUT he can't use weapons or armour. On of the tenants of the game
is that all player classes should be able to successfully play
the game.

Simularly the poor barbarian who is not very magic wise.

My Suggestion is this...

1/ Take a hint from nethack and other computer adventures
You can increase the +'s of a weapon (or armour)
but with each increase, the percentage change of the
         weapon (or armour) vaporizing increases.
In nethack the absolute maximaun of a weapon is +5
and that is extremly lucky. (Nethack also has wands
         of wishing!)

2/ Insure all monsters are not `imposible' though some are
next to it. Again see nethack. IE: a jessy or big wisard
         sounds like just too much.

3/ Make a bigger demand on reserection, so sucide runs at monsters
         is just that. Suggestions
              * loss of biggest/random magical item (unless from gods)
              * require you to sacrifice ?? gold to gods for
reserection before you can do some things
like some spells, rods, (EG:identify) or you
                  can't shop.
              * Upper limit of reserections (like in Dungeons and Dragons)

4/ If a crash happens characters that weren't saved start
at * `safe point' in the last `safe map' pasted through
(Like last city, inn, or a road in outside worl)
             * The normal city square or sorn
             * The last place the play slept.
I make this, as many time my character has ended up behind
a locked grate with no handle on that side. Or in a room full
of monsters which means instant death.

5/ Crossfire should be given some ultimate goal, which is very
difficult to reach. (cf all other computer adventures)
