Sadly I must disagree.  That was the first language I tried, even to 
the point of hacking together a loadable XPM photo module.  The 
performance on my SPARC IPX was tolerable, but the performance under 
NT3.5.1 on a P100 (with my ported XPM photo module) was clearly 
intolerable.  I'd like to (again) villify libXpm (pseudo ported), but 
performance still lacked after the images were cached.  If NT 
couldn't handle it, I'd hate to see what W95 would do.

I have been considering proposing Tcl as the archetype scripting 
language although that may be overkill.
