Heh, just because I'm lazy and don't want to watch the kernel compile
and wait to type in the individual lines, I cram most of it onto one
command line

First, I do a config of some sort (config, menuconfig, xconfig.. 
whatever)

Then, this long and nasty line ;-)
# make dep; make clean; make bzImage && make modules && make
modules_install

Then I muck with the /etc/lilo.conf stuff..

You could probably replace the '&&' with ';', but '&&' will only execute
the next command if the previous one completed successfully (there's no
point in compiling the modules if the kernel itself didn't compile,
right?)

Just my $0.029 (I've never understood gasoline pricing ;-)
