compiling KPackage

I am trying to compile KPackage and encountered a problem very typical of
previous experiences: During the ./configure stage, it complains thusly:

checking for QT... configure: error: QT-1.3 (headers and libraries) not
found. Please check your installation!

However, 'rpm -q qt' strongly disagrees and replies:

qt-1.44-6

And it verifies nicely! The /usr/lib directory contains 'libqt.so.1.44'
plus two symlinks (libqt.so and libqt.so.1) pointing to libqt.so.1.44. Just
for the heck of it, I placed symlinks in the /lib directory as well and ran
ldconfig. Still no success.

Any suggestions?

Ben
