Extranet IPSec, VPN

Well, I tried to patch the kernel and try to get VPN to work. I keep getting
and error message that it can't connect to host. I plug my PC directly into
the cable modem and it works fine.

Kernel 2.2.12 (patched, I think)
RH 5.2 (Upgraded to IPchains)

I have two ethernets, eth0 being the outside, and eth1 being inside.
What ipchains setup should I use?

I tried looking for the ksyms that had to with masq, but they aren't showing
up. The make menuconfig has added things for ipsec.

What step could I be missing in the kernel compile?
