glx & quake3 & g200

I have seen the light.

I got a g200 in a box today, overnight fedex from zibby over up in fargo
-- cause he has a tnt2u now. Installed it and thought: ok, will this
thing do quake3?

Sure it will!

I installed the GLX drivers in debian format found at
http://glx.on.openprojects.net/ and they worked nicely. (After finding a
regexp bug in the package that i need to report)

First off I tried it out with xscreensaver-gl. Excelent framerates from
most of the savers 'cept for stairs. Then I took it a level further, I
did the AGP sysmem sharing. As in, i deticated 8mb of my system memory to
the card and told glx to use it. (I have AGP2x, could be 3x if i wanted to
risk a 100mhz pci bus....) I then fired up quake3 and lo and behold-- on
default settings this thing really does kick ass. I havent had time to
run timedemos on it yet, but I am guessing its at least getting 30+ fps.

Cant wait for neverwinter nights for linux :)
