# /etc/rc.d/init.d/nfslock  status
lockd (pid 450) is running...
rpc.statd (pid 4000) is running...

statd is running.

Another side effect of this whole mess is that procmail hangs with the error
message "procmail: Terminating prematurely whilst waiting for a kernel-lock"
for anyone who has a .procmailrc in their home directory.

It's like Solaris cannot talk to Linux statd.
