Setting up X-Windows
I have been running X for the longest time at 1280x1024x16 resolution
but lately my eyes have started to strain because it it just a bit too
small on my 17" monitor.
My monitor is a Mitsubishi Diamond Pro 87 TXM. I have run it at
1152x864x32(?) in Windoze and I would like to use the same settings in
Linux but the X config tool won't do it.
Do I need to do a custom string in the config file? If so, how to I
formulate one?
My current setup includes the previously mentioned monitor conected to
an ATI XPERT98 8MB AGP graphics card running the Mach_64 Server. Debian
Potato, X-windows 3.3.5
I can get 1024x762x16 no problem but that is just a waste of space and I
don't like it. Any help anyone could give would be appreciated.
