Post Mortem

I came in to work this morning to find my trial Linux server box showing the
login prompt. Strange, perhaps we lost power last night. The telnet
connection up from yesterday still worked...for a while. After a few
exploratory commands, it locked up. Went over to the server box to try to
log in there, and found it was locked up too.

How can I find out more about what happened to this box last night?
