I'm using apcupsd with my APC Back-UPS Pro 650; it's pretty
slick. Nicely configurable (all with scripts, of course).
Little daemon sits in the background, polls your serial cable
every now and then, does automated shutdown on various settings
(timer, low battery time left, low battery power left, etc.).

Although I like it a lot, I'm rather looking forward to the
PowerChute Plus port because it should be remotely
administrable (sp?) like the standard Win32 version. I mainly
want this so I can tie it in with the APC models we've got here
in the office, so it'd be easy to keep tabs on all of them at
the same time.

(We get random power outages now and then, which aren't always
 campus-wide, so it's nice to be able to see whether my
 personal system is on its reserves or not).
