Printing from terminal AUX port

I am tying to print to a printer attached to a PC using a terminal
emulator telneted into Caldera OpenLinux. I can identify the pseudo port

( /dev/ttyp3) . if  I cat to the port, the test file will print after
connection but before the login is finished. Login process then captures

the port and does not allow the spooler to access the port.

Is there a different device file I need to use that is not locked ??

Any help will be appreciated
