partition maps, cylinders, etc.
I just moved a hard drive out of a Mac into a PC, which I know have
different partition maps. While partitioning it for Linux, fdisk complains
that the number of cylinders is set to 3969, which (it says) is a problem
because it's larger than 1024. What's the appropriate number of cylinders
for this disk? Any other gotchas? It's a WD 1.6G drive; Linux will be the
only thing on it. Thanks --
