freelist corrupt with gnome-1 rpms

I just downloaded all the new gnome packages for rh5.2. I started
installing them (rpm -Uvh for most rpm -ivh for glib and gtk+). When I try
to install xscreensaver (which I need for other programs) I get:

[root@pclueyb gnomenew1]# rpm -Uvh xscreensaver-3.07-1.i386.rpm

And it doesn't install -- and ideas / anyone else have this problem? What
does it mean?
