BTW, the _correct_ way to handle esd is with the 'esdctl' utility. When
you want to run a program that wants direct access to /dev/dsp, run
'esdctl off', to turn esd back on, run 'esdctl on'.
Of course, if you don't like having your desktop make noises, you can
just do killall esd.. ;-)
