compiling error

I'm trying to compile Window Maker Monitor, but I keep getting the 
following error.  I assume I have the files in the wrong place, but I can't 
figure out where they should go.  I did a find, but could not locate the 
files it refers to.  Any thoughts, anyone?

wmmon.c:80: X11/xpm.h: No such file or directory
wmmon.c:81: X11/extensions/shape.h: No such file or directory
