Probably not.  Explorer can't read Linux ext2 partitions, and
thus assumes that they are unformatted.  Explorer ignores them
completely.  The crashes are likely to be something else.  Are
you sure that Explorer is trying to read the Linux partition?  I
have had a dual Win95/Linux boot for some time, with no Explorer
problems.

You could persuade Microsoft to add ext2 support to Explorer.
