linuxconf, makemap and maptypes?

Where does linuxconf set the type of maptypes for sendmail?

I like using hash, but I think linuxconf by default uses something other then
hash.

After being in linuxconf and activating changes, the sendmail maps are updated
and are not hash format anymore. 

I can change the /etc/sendmail.cf to match, but I need to know what linuxconf
changes the maptypes to.
