Re: [TCLUG:9379] Slave DNS servers and TTL



Tell them to set the TTL for their master zone to be, say a month, for
the day before they go offline.  You will pick that TTL up, and not try
to load that domain for a month.

A better way to do it is to get the master files from them and make them
email / call you to becom the slave again.  That way even if they go
down for over a month, it won't matter.
