Yeah, the U is getting hit pretty hard with this.  As near as I can
tell, the bandwidth available to us got cut about in half sometime late
Monday/early Tuesday.  Connections to other big universities via the big
backbones (call it Internet2 if you want..) are just fine, but
everything through MR.net is plagued with lost packets.  I was getting
up to 30% packet loss yesterday.

I got a note that say MR.net is now `moving the U connection around',
but I don't really know if that will help (I hear that MR.net's backbone
is a little underpowered..)

Now I just wish that article on Slashdot was `roll your own DS3' rather
than `roll your own DSL' ;-)
