"Geek Junk"

I have been helping with the Forest Lake St. Peters Church rummage sale.
(starting this evening, ending Saturday Evening)

They have a few items that may (or may not) be of intrest to other people
on this list.   If you're looking for computer stuff a bit behind on the
technology curve, then read on. 

Prices haven't been finalized, but should end up reasonable... (i.e. they
are being priced by people that should have some idea how much these
things are worth). 

1.  WYSE serial terminal w/ keyboard - VERY big and clunky, but will
probably be free (or very near to it - $1?).  Can hook up to a Linux box
with a nul-modem cable.  No idea if it works.

2. A couple of barely Linux-capable 486 machines.  Approximately 486/25s,
w/ mono VGA and 8MB (and 24 pin dot matrix printers).  Will probably be
priced less than 30 for each monitor/PC/printer set.  All appear to work
fine - with windows 3.1, anyway!

3. A Macintosh LCII w/ 8MB RAM, 40MB HDD and 12" color monitor.  
(w/mouse, kbd, and j/s) Linux/68K does run on this beast and does support
the onboard SCSI (so you could add some decent sized storage) however,
looking at the port web page linux is a bit "raw" yet on this model.  
Pity, it would make a beautiful network boot X-Term, if it had a network
card. (very small footprint and reasonably good graphics)  No idea yet
what the price will be on this... Probably not much.  

4. An HP Deskjet 1600C printer.  Has a problem with the paper feed
assembly, but in otherwise perfect condition.  It is possible that you may
be able to use the manual sheet-feeder on the back to bypass the problem
(however I did not have a printer cable to test this theory) This is one
of HP's larger inkjets that has the large "industrial sized" ink
cartridges.  Also, this model has 4 separate cartridges for the different
colored ink.  This model also shares many parts with the 1200C printer -
so someone with parts for a 1200 could probably fix the 1600.  I do
believe the problem is mechanical in nature (sounds like a stripped gear).

Again, no idea what the price will be on this, but probably not much.
