xterm problem

I upgraded to RedHat 6.2, and now my backspace/delete don't work at all, on my xterm I spawn from the Linux box to my xwin software on my PC.  My solaris boxes work great, and 6.1 worked fine too.  Anybody know what changed and how to fix it??
