For Immediate Release
Corel® LINUX® OS Desktop to Access and Run Windows® Applications
Corel first to offer seamless connectivity between Linux® operating system and Windows® applications

Ottawa, Ontario – January 6, 2000 - Corel Corporation (NASDAQ: CORL, TSE: COR) today announced its Corel® LINUX® OS desktop will be the first Linux® operating system to run Windows applications seamlessly over any connection. The ability to access and use Windows applications makes Corel LINUX OS an ideal solution for computer users to accelerate migration to a Linux desktop while still having full use of their Windows applications.

"With the integration of GraphOn Bridges into the Corel LINUX OS it will be easy to
enjoy the benefits and high reliability of Linux while having access to the most widely used Windows applications,” said Michael Cowpland, president and chief executive officer of Corel Corporation. “This will enable organizations to mix Linux and Windows desktops seamlessly which is a prime goal of Corel in our Linux development.”

A version of Corel LINUX OS containing both Linux client and Windows NT® server licenses for GraphOn Bridges™ is scheduled to ship mid-2000. Users will be able to remotely access most Windows applications on a Windows NT server via the Corel LINUX OS desktop without having to license any additional third-party software.

For example, a cluster of PCs running on Corel LINUX OS could run native Linux applications like Corel’s upcoming office suite or graphics suite for Linux and also run Windows applications such as Microsoft® Office from a single Windows-based server shared by the Linux cluster.

“The beginning of the new millennium is a perfect time for Linux to surge forward a true alternative to Windows on the desktop and the new Corel Linux/Graphon technology will accelerate this process,” said Dr. Cowpland.

Corel introduced Corel LINUX OS November 15 at COMDEX/Fall ’99, and will now integrate GraphOn (Nasdaq: GOJO) Bridges connectivity software to enable Corel LINUX OS to run Windows applications. Corel has designed its highly efficient and powerful Corel LINUX OS for the consumer as well as the enterprise markets, featuring easy installation and the most user-friendly Linux operation to date.

"We are pleased to provide key technology to our partner, Corel, that will further enhance Corel as the leading desktop Linux operating system," said Walt Keller, GraphOn president and CEO. "GraphOn Bridges will help Corel LINUX OS become the ideal solution to use any Windows application over the Internet, wireless, network or dial-up connection."

The Corel-GraphOn licensing arrangement is an expansion of a previous licensing agreement that allowed Corel’s own Windows applications to run on the Corel LINUX OS desktop. The new extension opens that access to any Windows application from any vendor.
