qmail + fetchmail problem

i just installed qmail on my slackware 3.4 box. i followed the instructions
to the letter and got a message similar to the one below. i thought i'd try
upgrading fetchmail, but i still get the message listed below.

i tore through all the howto's i could find, but couldn't find anything that
seemed relavent to my situation. can anyone offer any suggestions?
